The TDI CCR Helitrox Decompression Procedures course is the second entry-level certification course for divers wishing to utilise a Closed Circuit Rebreather (CCR) for mixed gas diving, using a Helitrox diluent.
The objective of the course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for diving a CCR and to develop basic CCR diving skills, to a maximum of 45 metres, using an air/nitrox/helium diluent for formal decompression diving.
Students are permitted to utilise a diluent and bailout mix with no greater than a 35% helium content and no less than a 21% oxygen content and can use up to 100% oxygen for decompression.
Currently, all training is done using AP Inspiration XPD, EVP, EVO & Classic/IQSub XCCR/ScubaForce SF2 rebreathers.
Some units are available to be used for the duration of the course and can be included in the price of the course if required. We are an authorised dealer for all units used in the teaching portfolio and can advise you on and arrange the purchase of your new unit.
Please have a discussion with your instructor about all these options.
45 metres – Helitrox as diluent.
The CCR Helitrox Decompression Procedures is a performance-based course.
The course certification is specific to the CCR unit used during the training.
ScubaQuest follows both Technical Diving International (TDI) standards & procedures and Rebreather Education Safety Association (RESA) standards to ensure our Closed Circuit Rebreather (CCR) courses are as comprehensive and safe as possible.
The course is completed over five days.
Due to the nature of the course a flexible and personalised approach to the schedule will be applied based on the previous experience and pace of the student.
Technical Courses by their very nature require a tailored approach and in some cases the need to have a minimum number of students participating to make the course an effective learning experience. Technical courses will be scheduled based on demand and customer requirements.
Please contact ScubaQuest to discuss scheduling options.
